LMS WITH BLENDED LEARNING FEATURES

One cannot undermine the importance of mixing classroom training (ILT) and virtual classroom training (VILT) alongside eLearning courses on a learning management system.

Blended learning is a combination of learning methods where learners are independently learning at their own pace while also learning under an instructor.

WHY OPT FOR ABARA AS A BLENDED LEARNING LMS?

Abara LMS supports three training methods:

  • eLearning: Self-paced learning via SCORM packages, videos and documents

  • Classroom training (ILT): Conducting physical classrooms with an in-person trainer/instructor

  • Virtual Classroom Training (vILT): Conducting virtual classrooms using software like Zoom, GoToMeeting, or Skype, among others

Abara LMS allows administrators to create a blended learning experience using self-paced eLearning in combination with ILT and vILT.

Administrators can make videos, SCORM packages, and documents available as pre-work exercises to complete before an ILT or vILT session. Also, post-work can be assigned to learners after the session so that learning continues beyond the class as well.

The ability to combine both digital self-paced and instructor-led events make learning engaging and ensure that the instructors’ time is used for sessions where they would be most effective.

BLENDED LEARNING LMS PATHS

Abara LMS also allows the creation of Blended Learning Pathways where you can combine all three training methods as part of a program or curriculum.

Since ILTs are the most expensive type of training to conduct in terms of travel, time away from work, and logistics, the ability to reduce it to a minimum is an important objective for organizations.

For example, a SCORM package with video courses titled Sales Negotiation is a great way to learn sales training. Also, an instructor-led role-play is a good way to learn the art of sales negotiations in a physical or a virtual classroom like Zoom or GoToMeeting. Blended learning is about combining these two methods.

Training on an LMS via virtual classrooms is important. However, it’s without taking away the importance of face-to-face training from an instructor. Rather, it’s just easier to manage and execute. All knowledge-level information can be converted into eLearning or videos, and the most crucial parts or advanced Q&A or role-plays or demonstrations can be kept as ILT or vILT sessions.
